We’re looking for a proactive and enthusiastic Environmental Health Manager to lead the Food, Health and Safety, Environmental Protection and Enviro- crime services.

Key responsibilities:
- To provide effective operational and tactical management to the assigned teams and line management of team leaders. To deliver and continuously improve services and collaborate with colleagues, members and partners to support the implementation of objectives in the Council Plan.
- To maintain an awareness of developments in the environmental health field and in associated legislation and to make the necessary proposals to ensure continuing compliance with statute and best practice, whilst meeting member and public aspirations. To ensure that all service objectives, targets and service levels are understood, monitored and performed.
- To assist in the management of the Environmental Health service and in the formulation of policy and the development of service initiatives, including where possible, income generation.
What We’re Looking For:
We’re seeking an enthusiastic and capable professional with proven experience in service delivery and management. A track record of seeing complex cases through to conclusion and seeking service improvements. You’ll bring leadership, critical thinking, and a passion for improving services for our community.
This is a high-impact role at the heart of a prominent public-facing service, offering the opportunity to shape standards across the borough.
The role is hybrid with the expectation of attending the office 2 to 3 days per week. This will be more frequent during your training period. The role also includes occasional working outside of normal office hours.
You will have a UK driving licence and access to a car.
The role is politically restricted.
