Job Introduction

Ensuring our housing stock is maintained to the highest possible standard is a key priority for Welwyn Hatfield. Our commitment is to invest £150 million in people’s homes over the next five years with a target of being net zero by 2030. To achieve this, we are looking for a Building Surveyor (Stock Condition) to support this exciting long-term project.

 

Role Responsibility

What you will do!

You will carry out a programme of inspections to our social housing portfolio, carrying out internal and external visits, collating information to be used for future investment opportunities. You will be required to assist the Repairs and Voids team in ensuring our housing stock is both safe and of a high quality for our tenants.

The Ideal Candidate

What will you need!

Formally qualified in Building Studies, you should be highly experienced in diagnosing building faults and providing cost-effective solutions. This will give you the ability to identify repairs, draw up specifications, make technical decisions and solve complex problems, and you should be knowledgeable regarding building standards and passionate about delivering customer focussed outcomes.

The ability to converse at ease with members of the public and provide advice in accurate spoken English is essential in this post.

Starting salary £39,382pa with potential progression to £42,383pa on achieving designated skills and experience 

37 hours per week (hybrid working)
