Job Introduction

An exciting opportunity has arisen, and we are looking for a self-motivated IRRV qualified, or with equivalent extensive experience, person with proven communication skills. Your knowledge and commitment will help shape the future development and success of our service and allow you to make an impact in a key role as a Revenues and Benefits Client Officer.

Role Responsibility

Working with the Council’s partner, you will ensure that contractual and statutory obligations are met through quality assurance checks on housing benefit, council tax support and council tax work undertaken; ensuring that quality and accuracy of data is maintained.   With an ability to understand and interpret complex data, you will help to identify improved methods of performance and to establish and implement the best practice processes.

 

The Ideal Candidate

You will be IRRV qualified or have extensive equivalent experience. It is essential you have knowledge of benefits legislation and current experience processing benefits and council tax support. Effective communication skills and an understanding of good working practices to improve performance are also required. The role also involves close working with other Hertfordshire local authorities, Council services such as our Housing team, partners such as the Department for Work and Pensions and our Shared Anti-Fraud Service.

The ability to converse at ease with members of the public and provide advice in accurate spoken English is essential in this post.

Revenue and Benefits Client Officer

Starting salary £35,853pa with potential progression to £38,667pa on achieving designated skills and experience

37 hours per week (hybrid working)
