Fixed term for 18 months

Starting salary £46,376pa with progression to £49,608pa through annual increments subject to satisfactory service (inclusive of outer fringe allowance)

37 hours per week (hybrid working)

You would be the disrepair caseload specialist in the friendly, supportive and forward-thinking Legal Service team.

The ideal candidate will have the following skills and experience:

  • Proven experience of handling housing disrepair claims including appropriate legislation and case law
  • The ability to advise confidently in accurate spoken and written English
  • IT literate including Word, Excel and familiar with the use of case management systems
  • Be a team player, enthusiastic, reliable, conscientious and able to work to instructions
  • Excellent interpersonal and communications skills
  • Able to act on your own initiative and demonstrate a problem-solving approach

You will provide advice to our Repairs Department on liability and quantum in cases. You will work with the repairs team and other departments to defend, where appropriate, claims against the Council and in other cases to negotiate to achieve the best outcome.

You will be willing to travel across the borough for business needs.
