Starting salary £34,431pa with progression to £37,464pa through annual increments subject to satisfactory service

In this HR & Recruitment Officer role, you’ll lead on the provision of a comprehensive recruitment service for managers and support the provision of an overall HR service as part of a small team.
You’ll support managers with all aspects of the recruitment lifecycle through to onboarding the employee; this will include assisting managers with drafting adverts, preparing assessments and interview questions. You’ll be responsible for the management of our applicant tracking system and all pre-employment checks, day one contracts and ensuring policy and legislation compliance.
You’ll have up to date knowledge and understanding of local government recruitment markets, a sound understanding of equality legislation and best practice, and how this should be applied in practice and experience of applying policies and procedures consistently within a range of situations.
We are looking for someone with experience of, and an understanding of public sector recruitment and local government employee pay, terms and conditions. Someone who has experience of streamlining systems and processes to meet recruitment and HR needs and of using an applicant tracking system. Experience of using Resourcelink or a similar HR & Payroll system would be an advantage.
You’ll have the ability to process information accurately and be flexible in your approach to changing priorities. You’ll be an excellent communicator, able to build relationships with recruiting managers and ensure excellent customer service for applicants. You’ll be highly organised with the ability to manage a variable workload to a high standard and tight deadlines.
