Starting salary £35,853pa with potential progression to £38,667pa on achieving designated skills and experience 

37 hours per week (hybrid working)

In this high-profile role, you will be the lead on the council’s governance and policy work. You will need to have a genuine interest in regulatory processes as you will be responsible for the Freedom of Information, Data Protection, Governance Policies and Whistleblowing. This will include evaluating requests, making and recording decisions on whether to release information or not, educating and informing Councillors and Officers on statutory duties in these areas.

The successful candidate will become a key member of the Governance Services Team ensuring governance policies are in line and kept updated with current legislation and regulatory requirements. You will ensure these policies are communicated and implemented throughout the council.

We are looking for a candidate with good organisational and communication skills both written and verbal and well-developed inter-personal skills, as the post holder will be in regular contact with a staff across the Council. The successful applicant will have experience of working within or with a local authority, along with experience of working in a regulatory role. A working knowledge of Freedom of Information, Data Protection and Whistleblowing is also essential. Working as part of a small team, you will be a good team player who welcomes and responds positively to change.
