Geographical Information System (GIS) Manager
(P00922)

£39,832 - £42,383 per annum inclusive of outer fringe allowance
37 hours per week (hybrid working)

We are looking to recruit an experienced GIS professional to manage the Council’s GIS function. You will lead and manage the corporate Geographical Information System (GIS) to meet the Council’s needs and those of its contractors and partners, working with colleagues from across the organisation.

You will be able to provide specialist advice to multiple service areas on how we can make the best use of GIS systems to provide our services efficiently and effectively.

You will also represent the Council as the Local Land and Property Gazetteer (LLPG) Custodian, the Council’s representative and holder of the Public Sector Mapping Agreement (PSMA) with national government, and work to maintain our gold standard in providing that data.

You will have good communication skills and be able to demonstrate methodical and well organised working. It is essential that you have experience in GIS, preferably the QGIS system, and that you are able to work under pressure at times.

The ability to converse at ease with members of the public and provide advice in accurate spoken English is essential in this post.

Assessments and interviews will be held on 1 May 2024.
