Starting salary £46,376 with progression to £49,608 through annual increments subject to satisfactory service (inclusive of outer fringe allowance)

37 hours per week (hybrid)

We’re looking for an ambitious and forward-thinking Economic Development Team Leader to spearhead initiatives that drive growth, attract investment, and strengthen our local economy. This is a key leadership role, shaping the economic future of our area by working collaboratively with stakeholders to deliver sustainable development and create opportunities for businesses and residents alike.

You will lead the delivery of the Council’s new Economic Development Strategy, identify opportunities, build a strong project pipeline, and ensure alignment with strategic priorities. Your focus will be on supporting businesses, forging partnerships across the public and private sectors, and driving projects that stimulate growth and innovation.

You will have a good understanding of commercial development industry and knowledge of statutory regulations around economic development. You will have experience of leading a team and be able to work collaboratively with external partners. You will have excellent communication skills both written, oral and be able to present to various audiences.

The ability to converse at ease with members of the public in accurate spoken English is essential in this post.

You will have a full UK driving licence and access to a car.
