Starting salary £34,431pa with progression to £37,464pa through annual increments subject to satisfactory service (inclusive of outer fringe allowance)

37 hours per week (hybrid working)

Fixed term up to 12 months (Maternity Cover)


An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our Community Development team on a fixed term basis up to 12 months for maternity cover.

About the role:
As a Community Development Officer, you will lead on the planning, delivery, monitoring and evaluation of events, projects, initiatives and campaigns. You will proactively engage with community leaders and build links with local organisations to identifying gaps of provision. You will lead on operational matters for the Community Inclusion Partnership progressing project work and initiatives.

This role requires a presence in the office at least two days a week, and you will also be out in the community. You will be required to work occasional evenings and weekends supporting campaigns and events such as This Girl Can and Big Summer.

About you:
We are seeking a highly motivated individual with a positive attitude to work, who can act as a role model within their local community. The successful candidate will demonstrate excellent communication skills, strong attention to detail, adaptability to change, and excellent time management and organisational skills. You will demonstrate the ability to develop creative and effective solutions to complex issues, work collaboratively or independently as required, and take initiative with confidence.

You must be educated to A Level or have equivalent experience. 

You will have a full UK driving licence to be able to travel around the borough.
